The U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) requires that all applicants for immigrant visas and certain applicants for nonimmigrant visas, regardless of age, undergo a medical examination by a physician authorized by the U.S. government before receiving a visa.

Requirements for your consular medical exam
On the day of your medical examination, you must bring the following:
  • We offer free transportation from your accommodation or the airport to our clinic. Schedule transportation here.
  • Fasting is not necessary; we recommend having a light breakfast before your medical exam.
  • If you are taking any medication do not stop taking it; it will not affect your results in any way.
  • Minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by one of their parents, guardians, or petitioners. If neither of the above can accompany them, they need to present a notarized letter, signed and sealed.
  • If you come by car, we have free parking.
  • If you have companions, we have a spacious and comfortable waiting area in our facilities.
  • If you are a senior citizen or a person with special needs, you can come accompanied by a family member who knows your medical history to assist you; they can accompany you throughout the entire process.
  1. Document delivery: We will give you a data form to fill out and your turn at the window.
  2. Data capture and photography
  3. Eye exam: We will perform visual acuity tests; the eye exam is not applied to children under 4 years of age.
  4. Laboratory: We will take a blood sample and only if you are between 18 and 24 years old will we ask for a urine sample.
  5. X -ray: If you are over 15 years old, we will perform a chest x-ray.
  6. Medical examination: General review of each patient.
  7. Vaccinations: We will review your vaccination record and administer only the vaccines necessary to comply with the United States vaccination schedule according to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).
  8. Cashier: You make the payment for your medical exam and vaccines.
  9. READY , YOU'RE DONE!: Here you receive your proof of medical exam to present on the day of your appointment at the consulate.

* The consular medical examination is an individual process; it may vary from person to person according to their age and health conditions.

 

Your consular medical exam results may be in two formats depending on the type of visa you are applying for:

  • RESIDENCE VISAS: They will not be delivered to you directly; we will send them electronically to the American Consulate on the next business day after you have taken your exam.
  • FINANCE VISAS (K1, K2): We will give you a sealed black envelope, DO NOT OPEN IT!, just take it with you on the day of your consular interview.

Remember: Both formats are valid and vary depending on the case of each applicant.

 

  • Your CMI vaccination certificate will be sent to you by email the next business day, after 4:00 PM. If you do not receive it, you can request it by emailing [email protected]
  • If you have already had the tests done previously and need to have them done again, you must go to the clinic where you had your first test. Please bring your receipt from the previous test.
  • As of April 1, 2024, by order of the American Consulate, all applicants aged 2 and over will require a blood tuberculosis test (IGRA).

The United State Inmmigration Law requieres that immigrant visa applicants comply with the American Vaccination schedule  in accordane with the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and ACIP (Advisory Committee on Inmunization Practices).
