Frequently asked questions
Get quick answers to your questions and make decisions with greater confidence.
Can I schedule my medical exam without a TRN or HAP ID number?
No. The TRN or HAP ID number is required to enter your information into the Australian government’s eMedical system. If you do not yet have one, you will need to wait until you receive it from the Embassy or your immigration advisor before scheduling your appointment.
How do I know if I need just an X-ray or the full examination?
The type of tests required depends on what the Australian Department of Immigration requests based on your age, visa type, or medical history. Once you receive your appointment letter, it will specify whether you need to have an X-ray or the full examination.
What is the eMedical system, and do I need to do anything on it?
eMedical is the Australian government’s official platform for submitting immigration medical examinations. At CMI, we handle the entire process for you. You don’t need to enter or upload documents yourself, but you must have your TRN or HAP ID to start your application.
How long are medical exam results valid?
Generally, medical exam results for Australia are valid for 12 months. However, if your immigration process is delayed or you change your visa category, you may be required to retake the exams. Consult your immigration advisor for more details regarding your specific visa type.
Can CMI expedite the delivery of results if I have an urgent need?
The delivery of results depends on the eMedical system’s guidelines and the type of test. Although turnaround times are standardized, if your case is urgent, please let us know when you schedule your appointment. Our team will prioritize your case within the limits of the system.
